These days, consumers have a great range of clothes to choose from online. Among the most popular items are urban fashion items and hip hop clothing.

One man who is determined to get a slice of the action when it comes to such ecommerce is rugby star Jonny Wilkinson. Along with his brother Mark Wilkinson, who is also called Sparks, he is launching a range of garments known as Fineside. The products will include T-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts, hooded tops, outerwear and accessories.

Commenting on the decision to get involved in the world of fashion, Jonny said: “Sparks and I wanted to develop something special and with this clothing line I feel like we are definitely doing that. Fineside is massively important to us.”

The 32-year-old, who is an England international and now plays his club rugby for Toulon following 12 seasons in the English Premiership at Newcastle Falcons, added: “We’re starting small because we want to get this right and keep it honest. We hope that in time we will be able to build and establish the brand.”

Meanwhile, Mark pointed out that the garments are inspired by movement. The clothes are designed to be comfortable for both outdoors and urban physical activity.

In this way, they are similar to many of the urban fashion items currently on the market, including some hip hop clothing.

Mark added: “Whether you’re in the gym, out on a bike, running or just going to the shops, our clothing will help you move, whatever the conditions.”

Jonny and Mark are no strangers to working together. The pair played rugby together for a while at Newcastle.

However, Jonny will have to go some way to equal his success on the rugby field when it comes to the world of fashion. Among his many accolades, he holds the Rugby World Cup points record, with 249.

Urban clothing is much loved by many people around the world. Indeed, the popularity of urban fashion is rising all the time and availability of such items over the web is one of the reasons for this. However, it is of course still possible for consumers to purchase garments like this in stores.

Indeed, drawing attention to its selection of clothing recently, McArthurGlen’s East Midlands Designer Outlet held a series of extreme fashion shows, the Derbyshire Times reports.

According to the news source, the display attracted hundreds of people to the centre.

Chris Sheard and John Simkins donned urban clothing and took to their spring-loaded stilts, which enable them to travel at more than 20 miles per hour and to jump up to five feet in the air.

Modelling the urban fashion, the daring duo performed three shows for shoppers. They are both members of Team Kinetix, which describes itself as a dynamic performance group comprising specialists in acrobatics, free-running, stage combat and parkour, among other things.

Commenting on the event, marketing manager at McArthurGlen East Midlands Donna Goodwin said: “We’re delighted to have rounded off Urban Life and Style with something our customers might never have seen before: a brilliant display of powerbocking from world-record breaking artists.”

Meanwhile, Mr Simkins added: “As it’s coming to the end of the summer holidays, it was great to treat shoppers at McArthurGlen East Midlands to something special and show them a great way of being fashionable while staying active.”

One of those to see the pair in action was 25-year-old Jane Harrison, who said she got a “real kick” out of watching the show and noted that she found it “amazing” how high they could jump and flip. She added that she travelled to the outlet to pick up some clothes but ended up having a great time too.

Hip hop clothing is the style of choice for many of the world’s most popular celebrities and two A-listers to show off their street styles recently were Jay-Z and Kanye West.

The pair, who have teamed up on the Watch the Throne hit, gave a surprise performance at the recent 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. According to a report on The BoomBox, the pair’s appearance was “high-energy”.

Meanwhile, talking about their choice of urban fashion items, the news source added: “Rocking casual, almost too-cool-to-care street clothes, Jay and Kanye set the stage on fire, while sparklers were set ablaze behind them.”

They took to the stage following the opening act provided by Lady Gaga. The BoomBox noted this was a hard performance to follow but added that in the end, it was the Jay-Z- Kanye West show that shone.

Jay-Z has been in the news a lot recently. The 41-year-old revealed on Twitter last month that he is set to work with Pharrell Williams on the NERD urban fashion label.

And, adding to his busy schedule, the rapper, entrepreneur and occasional actor is also set to become a dad. At the MTV Video Music Awards, his other half Beyonce posed for photos holding her baby bump. While she did not explicitly declare she was expecting a child, she made it obvious this was the case.

No doubt the duo’s youngster will be clad in all the latest hip hop clothing as he or she grows up.

Beyonce and Jay-Z met in 2002 when they collaborated for the song Bonnie & Clyde. Following this, he appeared in further hit singles of hers, including Crazy in Love and That’s How You Like It.

Although they keep their relationship low-profile and do not generally discuss it in the media, it emerged that they had wed during a private ceremony in New York in 2008.
